Hi! Welcome to my blog! I've never had a blog before, so I'm really excited about posting updates and keeping in touch with my friends and family around the world. I hope you check back regularly and see what's happening here.
A year and a half ago I was living in Austin, TX, when I got a call from the new NYU Tisch Asia campus that I got into their graduate film program. Yippee! I did a little booty dance alone in my room making high pitched squealing noises. Although a move halfway around the world for three years made me a little nervous, I decided to give it a shot anyways. Well gosh darn, it turns out it was one of the best dang decisions I ever made in my whole dang life! My class has been officially dubbed the Tisch Asia Pioneers, and let me tell you - we ROCK.

Before I left Austin, I gave away most of my crap to the roller girls, had myself a sweet little two-stepping going away party, and drove the rest of my crap back to Pittsburgh. I started watching movies left and right to study up! I also had to get my sister married to a fine man I'm happy to call my brother, and before she could say "honey, did you pack the trojans?", I landed at 31 Alexandra Road with my life stuffed into two huge duffel bags that I moved into a swell apartment the day before scho
ol started. Voila! I'm now officially a Singaporean who eats prata and smoothies, bikes to school, looks after a mango and jade plant, avoids black cobras spotted regularly on campus, shot a documentary in Burma, and lives with two gals I practically consider my family. What more could a girl possibly want??
Although last year was a little chaotic, this year I think we're all in fifth gear. We are starting to get job offers, the school is getting more attention, and so is Singaporean filmmaking. It's a really exciting time at Tisch Asia. Right now I'm putting together my fourth short film - Kindred Spirit (look for a new blog on that coming soon) - a comedy about two girls fighting over a surfer they both dated - at his funeral. Some of my work will eventually get posted here, although I have to submit the finished work to festivals first. I am also putting together a benefit showing of the documentary Murderball, with my friend Mark Zupan doing a Q&A after the film for the students and the local disabled community of Singapore. (secretly, I'm more excited to see him and his team bring home a gold medal from the Paralympics).
Well that's all for now. I have to get back to forming an LLC, working on my script, location scouting, casting, and storyboarding. See ya soon!
